Privacy Policy
K POS is a point-of-sale system for restaurants. This policy explains what information K POS handles and how it is used.
Information we store
- Account information: the name, email address or username, and a hashed password for each Admin and Cashier account.
- Restaurant business data entered by the restaurant: products, categories, tables, orders, payments, promotions, cash records, workers, salaries and settings.
- Security logs: login times and results, used to protect accounts.
Each restaurant's business data is kept in its own separate database and is only accessible to that restaurant's accounts.
Google Drive
A restaurant Admin may choose to connect their own Google account so K POS can save backups and monthly sales reports of that restaurant to their Google Drive.
- K POS requests only the
drive.filepermission. It can only create and access the files and folder that K POS itself creates. It cannot see any other files in the user's Drive. - K POS uses this access only to upload that restaurant's backups and reports to a "K POS" folder in the user's Drive, and to remove the oldest K POS backup if the Drive is full.
- We store the Google account email address and an encrypted access token so uploads can run automatically. We do not read, sell or share Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- The Admin can disconnect at any time in Web Admin → Settings → Google Drive, which deletes the stored token. Access can also be removed from the Google Account permissions page. Files already saved to Drive remain the user's.
K POS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How information is used
Information is used only to operate K POS for the restaurant: processing orders and payments, producing receipts and reports, verifying email addresses, and creating backups. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while the restaurant uses K POS. A restaurant Admin may request deletion of their restaurant's data by contacting us.
